Dr. Lynch is the Director of the Global Malaria Program at the Center for Communications Programs, Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health

Dr. Antoinette Tshefu Kitoto is a professor and specialist of internal medicine and infectious diseases at the University of Kinshasa, School of Public Health in the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC). She has served as a malaria consultant to the Global Fund DRC. She received her MD from the Université Nationale du Zaïre, and a masters and doctorate in public health from Tulane University, New Orleans, Louisiana. A native of the DRC, she has over 14 years of public health experience working in the country on malaria and humanitarian initiatives.

Previously, Dr. Tshefu provided technical assistance and coordination for the National Malaria Control Program for the Center for Disease Control (CDC) and the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) in the DRC. She also works to raise awareness of health, nutrition, and sanitation issues for refugees in the DRC, and has served as a medical coordinator for the Mugunga Rwandese Refugee Camp and the American Refugee Committee Laboratory.

Dr. Tshefu has conducted research on the epidemiology of infectious and parasitic diseases and has designed and implemented infectious disease control projects with a focus on malaria prevention and eradication.

Dr. Tshefu is working to reduce the malaria burden during pregnancy and to assess the safety and efficacy of treatments for infants and children with acute uncomplicated Plasmodium Falciparum malaria.
