Assistant Professor
Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health

Cindy Stanton is an assistant professor at the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health. Her training in demography and epidemiology has led to a general focus on population-based measurement of maternal and perinatal mortality and health in developing countries. Her current projects include establishing guidelines for reporting indicators for Caesarean sections in low- and high-use areas, documenting the causes of perinatal death, and measuring the active management of the third stage of labor in East/West Africa, Central America, and Asia. She is also involved in efforts to improve the measurement of maternal mortality through national population censuses.
