Ron Lee is a professor of demography and economics at the University of California-Berkeley. A distinguished scholar, he is an elected member of the National Academy of Sciences, American Association for the Advancement of Science, the American Academy of Arts and Sciences, the Philosophical Society, and a corresponding member of the British Academy. He has served on the National Advisory Council on Aging and currently serves on the National Advisory Child Health and Human Development Council. His research projects include forecasting mortality and other demographic trends, and analyzing the economic impact of changing population age distributions, including on Social Security finances and government budgets.
