Population Council, Senegal
Nafissatou Diop is the country director of Population Council in Senegal, where she oversees a program of activities spanning many areas of reproductive health including family planning, female genital cutting (FGC), adolescent reproductive health, and safe motherhood. She worked for the Council's Frontiers in Reproductive Health program, a ten-year operations research cooperative agreement that the Population Council and partners executed for the U.S. Agency for International Development from 1998 to 2008. Recently she led the strategy and tools for developing comprehensive condom programming in seven African countries. She has designed, implemented, and managed programs in family planning, reproductive health, maternal and neonatal health, FGC, sexually transmitted infections and HIV/AIDS, post-abortion care, gender, and adolescent health.
